Jon by PatrickMark
My second year of shooting really brought me to a new level of photography as I turned up the photoshopping. I was still shooting for LOBO’s marketing materials but I was itching to express my own creativity. My relationship with TWiT Magazine ended when they changed hands leaving my session with Jason (see Best of 2008 gallery below) without a place to be published. It was time to create my own outlet.
I launched an online magazine titled MANofAUSTIN.com to showcase my work. I took hot topics and applied them to layouts, combining personal experiences from other men and illustrating them with my photography.
It was a huge success and the website took off. Unfortunately at the same time, my full-time career in TV and my personal life were suffering so I took a step back to rethink everything.
After a few months of personal restructuring and finding a new relationship I decided to get back to my photography. Just about the time I was going to pick up the editorials Village Lighthouse tapped me for a calendar to be distributed throughout the country and online! Wow – what a great opportunity but again the website took a back seat.
As the year came to an end so did my work with LOBO and MANofAUSTIN.com still sat in limbo. 2009 would start with new equipment and a race to start and finish the calendar in only a few weeks.
Still 2008 will undoubtedly be the year that I stepped up my work and began making a name for myself.
I didn’t include any pics from Jon (above) in this gallery. I’ll create a seperate ‘Best of’ post for his session.

Great photos! And I like the green background – elegant, rich, classy, AND makes the photos pop!
